Treadmill Review

You know ProForm as a world leader in home fitness equipment. The brand is known for offering tailor-made solutions to fitness enthusiasts around the world. This time, it has something quite innovative on the list.

The Proform 850T is a space-saving (foldable) treadmill powered by a powerful 2.5 CHP Mach Z commercial motor. This treadmill has a spacious deck supported by the ProShox Lite cushioning system. This model comes with an impressive range of (24) workouts divided into three functional groups that automatically adjust the speed, incline, and duration of the workout to suit your fitness or weight loss goals.

All training data is presented on a 6-inch backlit LCD display, which shows all relevant training data. It has double the preset programming, and the warranty on its components is twice as long. Thanks to iFit Live and great audio capabilities, it’s loaded with features that provide additional motivation for exercising. The 850 T is a treadmill that we highly recommend for light exercise, harmoniously combining great training and fun.

Why is PROFORM 850T TREADMILL your perfect workout partner?

Commercial motors are essential if the treadmill will be used by more than one person or if it is used daily for an intense workout. With a reasonable price on this treadmill, it’s a great choice for busy homes or intense workout destinations. The motor is the highlight of this ProForm 850T treadmill review.

Many treadmills sold in this price range don’t offer much power, but this one has 2.5 continuous HP with commercial-grade support. The commercial motor means the treadmill is designed to withstand constant use and more intense training. If it’s designed to withstand repetitive tasks in a commercial setting, you can be sure it will withstand the exercises you want to perform.

To stay motivated and use your fitness goals when using the treadmill, it is important to have a good selection of preset training programs. This Proform 850Taddition has a total of 24 built-in workouts divided into three functional groups.

These three functional groups are as follows:

  • 8 calorie workouts that were designed by a certified personal trainer to help you burn calories and lose weight with a choice of 200-700 calorie-burning workouts. For a more accurate calorie count, you can enter your weight information.
  • 8 timed workouts designed by a certified personal trainer that automatically adjusts your speed and propensity to achieve your goals. You can choose between 20 and 60 minutes of training.
  • 8 distance training sessions designed by a certified personal trainer. These exercises offer training programs for specific distance races and automatically adjust speed and incline according to your training. You can choose from 1 m, 2 m, 3 m, 5 m, 5 m, half marathon, or a complete marathon.

Incline And Decline Controls:

This Proform 850 T treadmill climbs at 12 mph and climbs to a 12% incline. This is a respectable range of performance and incline, especially when compared to other treadmills in this price range. This is more than enough speed and inclines to make your workouts effective and challenging.

You’ll have room to increase cardiovascular strength and endurance without overstepping the boundaries of your treadmill. This is a nice treadmill length for a model in this price range. You won’t have much more time if you don’t get into the higher price range for the 60 “model. Most users can make complete progress by running and walking on a treadmill of this length and for the treadmills sold in this model. It’s more of a standard price range.

In Proform 850 The padding is a nice feature because it protects the joints of the lower body. You will not absorb as much pressure from training as if you would run or walk outdoors on a hard floor. You can now get suspension on most treadmills around 000 and even some treadmills for a lower price, so that was to be expected when I did a survey for my ProForm 850T treadmill review.

You have planned a nice range of workouts in the console, thanks to which you will not be bored with this treadmill. You can choose between workouts that burn a certain amount of calories, those that are timed, and those designed to cover a certain distance. These options can easily be coordinated with your specific fitness goals.

iFit Live enabled:

You can purchase a separate module for iFit Live technology. The module connects to the console and allows you to connect the treadmill to a computer. So what you do is virtually unlimited.

Think about getting on a treadmill and walking or running on real roads around the world. Imagine working out on programs designed by top coaches, including famed Jillian Michaels. Imagine connecting with Facebook friends and other iFit Live users for virtual races to help you train for the next 5K or even a marathon. You can monitor your heart rate with sensors located on the front handlebar.

Simply wrap your arms around the sensors and look at the consoles to see your heart rate monitor. In this price range, there are treadmills that offer wireless heart rate monitoring, but not all of them have the great guarantee you’ll find with ProForm 850 T. There is a fan that you can turn on at any time. Cooling down during and after exercise is essential. It’s a plus for the treadmill, which is already attractive. Plus, you can fold everything up and store it somewhere where you don’t have to worry about saving space.

All this and more is possible with iFit Live. While you need to purchase the module separately, this is one of the biggest highlights of this ProForm 850T treadmill review. You will never get bored with exercising at home again! You will want to train all the time.

Is the PROFORM 850 T TREADMILL good enough for your cardio?

The 850 T, while impressive in some respects, is a pretty good average in this class. The treadmill has high quality but a small motor. With 2.5 CHP, this will be enough for most runners, but it can be a problem if you put too much pressure on it. I usually try to stay above CHP 3.0 if I can. And this is possible in this price category. A small engine compensates for the big problems on the road. This is not the kind of combination we would like to see.

The treadmill is slightly shorter as compared to the full-size treadmills in the market. 20 ″ x 55 ″ is not far from the standard 20 ″ x 60 ″, but if you’re tall or tend to be often late, shorter lengths can be annoying. Large runners may find that it’s not quite right for them, but it should still last for some time. If you are a runner, you would be running away from this due to the fear of simply destroying it.

PROFORM 850 T TREADMILL: Wow factors vs. Nah factors

Wow factors:

  • Mach Z Commercial professional engine
  • ProShox Lite Cushioning/damping
  • 8 calories for exercise
  • 8 timed exercises
  • 8 Distance learning
  • Compatible with iFit LIVE
  • Double heart rate monitor
  • Fast speed control
  • Quick tilt control
  • CoolAire Workout Fan
  • 6 “backlit LCD display
  • Intermix Acoustics 2.0 EQ sound system
  • Music port compatible with iPod
  • Spatial design (foldable)

Nah factors:

  • The warranty isn’t the most impressive. You only get 1 year for parts.
  • This is not a suitable treadmill for those who want to lose weight.
  • The exercises are good, but there are features to help you maximize weight loss exercises that this model doesn’t have, such as no user profile information, no wireless heart rate data, and no advanced reporting systems. The case is different if you buy a iFIT live module.

Decision: Should you invest in a PROFORM 850 T TREADMILL?

Reviews on the 850T treadmill are mixed, mainly due to confusing promotions and ProForm price adjustments for several models, including this one. Reviewed at $ 1,300, this model offers nothing comparable to the front treadmills at this price, but this model is suddenly more attractive at a hefty discount. With the exception of a one-year parts/labor warranty and poor ProForm customer service, it’s a good machine in terms of noise, suspension, schedules, performance, and reliability.
