Horizon T101 Treadmill Review

Product Review

Horizon has continued to improve its T101, but this year Horizon has reduced the years covered by the T101 warranty. We are pleased that they also deducted some money from the price tag. Coupled with the company’s reputation, the overall quality of the T101 treadmill, and the Horizon’s variable-response cushioning, the T101 is a decent treadmill in this price range.

But first, we’ll understand better everything that comes with the Horizon T101 treadmill. When looking at the quality and value of a treadmill, some features don’t matter much, while others do.

We all have this spectacular tee, which may have some holes and is far from as pretty as a Columbia polo or jacket, but it’s just a good tee, and we do not want to get rid of it. The Horizon T101 is just the same. It is a fact that it isn’t the best treadmill on the market, but it serves a purpose for athletes who would do light exercise and does a great job for them.

Horizon has provided one year on parts and one year warranty, along with a lifetime warranty on the frame and motor, which shows the added value of this treadmill with the deduction in its price. In retrospect, the Horizon T101 still has good value for this price.

One of the reasons we like Horizon treadmills is their quality design and build and the cushioning of the Horizon T101 treadmill is proof of that. As you can see, Johnson has designed various shock absorption systems. In principle, there is more absorption towards the front of the treadmill, a little less in the middle and a least in the back.

Then your foot hits a softer platform and pushes onto a firmer surface. While we’re not willing to bring Variable Response Cushioning on the bank, this suspension is likely to slightly improve your training experience, which will, in turn, elevate the standard of the T101 treadmill.

However, there are some drawbacks we have encountered. While it’s a good treadmill for the price, the T101 doesn’t have the most durable built in this price category. In terms of durability, that’s always an issue, but Horizon has added a decent warranty that can put the user at some ease.

Horizon Fitness T101 brings 30 training programs to help you achieve your fitness goals and keep you motivated and challenged along the way. Whether it’s losing weight, building muscle tone, building a strong heart, or all of the above, the options of the Horizon T101 exercise program are enough to keep you challenged at the beginning of your fitness journey.

The T101 offers nine programming options with three goals (time, distance, calories) and three workouts (manual, intervals, weight loss). To make sure you’re on the right track, you can use the built-in pulse handles to monitor your heart rate and take a quick reading on the LED display.

Horizon T101 has a 2.5 HP motor, which is once again ideal for walking or light jogging. The motor tilts the platter and continuously adjusts the speed, so there are no hiccups or pauses during use. The motor is also surprisingly quiet, making the T101 great for home use.

This treadmill might be for you if:

  1. Looking for an affordable treadmill at an entry-level.
  2. You want a treadmill with a decent warranty.
  3. You are novel to the world of fitness and want to focus on light to medium workouts or walking routines.

Horizon Fitness distributes inexpensive treadmills and other home fitness equipment. Its basic T101 treadmill costs just $ 599, making it one of the best-selling models in the industry. It is a worthwhile treadmill for those who prefer walking or a light to moderate workout and are in search of a machine with a compact folding structure that can be easily stored. Its best features include a tilt, Bluetooth speaker system, nine built-in exercise programming options, and a decent warranty.

Horizon continues to celebrate the deal and now offers financing options on its treadmills, so if you’re on a budget and need to save, you can still get a quality machine from a reputable brand without having to pay the entire cost upfront.

Although the T101 is the best-selling Horizon model, the brand also offers high-end treadmills such as Adventure 3, Elite T7-02, Elite T5, and Elite T9-02, which are worth a look if you are not too strict on your budget.

What we like:

Horizon treadmills are ideal for those on a lower budget dedicated to fitness. Although the T101 was introduced into the market with an MSRP of $ 999, it now retails for just $ 599 online.

The T101 has a decent warranty on equipment in its price range, offering lifetime frame and engine coverage and 1 year for parts and labor. Overall, it’s a good deal for a treadmill for the price it is offered.

Updated Bluetooth speaker system makes it easy to listen to podcasts and streaming music during training and workouts.

Exercise Programs:

Nine built-in T101 exercise programming options are enough for beginners to master. 30 programs offer time, distance, and calorie goals, as well as manual, interval, and weight loss exercises.

With your consent, you can get 6, 12, 18, or 24 months APR plans with 0% to help you pay for your treadmill gradually.

To make trai

ning more efficient, the T101 can be inclined up to 10%. Feel the sting!

Heart Rate Monitoring:

You can now

easily monitor your heart rate with the T101 Dual Handle Monitoring System.

Horizon consoles are easy to use and look good. The gray T101 console has three data windows with red LED lighting and a cooling fan for your comfort.

The T101 can be easily folded for easy storage and transport.

Unlike many other budget treadmills, the T101 can support up to 300 lbs.

What we don’t like:

Small Footprint:

While the 20-inch x 55-inch treadmill is a notable improvement over the 17-inch and 45-inch Evolve SG treadmill, it’s still not long enough for tall users. When you spend another $ 200, you can get a Horizon T202 treadmill with a 60-inch track.

The 2.5 HP T101 motor is suitable for walking and jogging but doesn’t cut the deal for the most demanding runners. Additionally, it only supports speeds up to 10 mph. You may find that any other treadmill with an upgraded motor (that has higher horsepower) will provide a smoother experience.

T101 suspension is fine, but there is nothing to be proud of. If you plan to use the treadmill primarily for running, consider choosing Horizon’s Elite T5 instead; it offers a better transmission system, better display, and a guarantee that pays off in the long run.

Our verdict

While this machine appears to be great value for money, we have consistently warned against serious users buying the machine for less than $ 1,000. Johnson, the parent company of Horizon, has a solid repertoire of machines in a higher price range that would be suitable for heavy use.

However, the T101-05 was rated as a good treadmill with a solid mechanical design and quality components. We found the T101-05 to be Horizon’s best effort in the $ 700 price range.

The T101 is ideal for those just starting out on their fitness journey or for those who prefer light to moderate workouts. Key features of the T101 include its nine workout scheduling options that provide exposure to different types of treadmill workouts, Bluetooth speakers from which workout motivation lists can be streamed, and a decent guarantee.

While the Horizon T101 is above average for a machine in its price range, don’t let that fool you. It’s great for what it is: a low-cost treadmill. If you’re looking for a little more advanced budget treadmill, check out the Horizon Adventure 3 or Elite T5.
