Bowflex Max Trainer M7 Treadmill – Is it the Best Treadmill for you?

Product Review

Disclaimer: The Bowflex Max Trainer M7 was completed in early 2019 and replaced by the Bowflex Max Trainer M6.

The Bowflex Max Trainer M7 offers one of the most effective and smooth home workouts with virtually zero impact on the joints – making it a worthwhile alternative to traditional treadmills, elliptical trainers, and stair steppers. The Max Trainer M7 is a state-of-the-art gym-quality trainer treadmill that provides a wide range of effective built-in programs, stainless steel sports pedals, and 20 levels of resistance to keep you challenged. Also, you’ll be able to enjoy wireless, automatic heart rate reporting to Bowflex Fitness – another unique way to control your workout intensity.

Introduced in 2016, the Bowflex M7 is the stylish new leader of the Bowflex Max Trainer range. In two main ways, it serves as a great alternative to treadmills and ellipticals – it burns a lot more calories and is much gentler. Keep fit in half the normal time! Max Trainer M7 can store four user-profiles and is suitable for family training classrooms.
The Max Trainer M7 has 20 resistance levels, which pose a challenge for a wide range of participants. Dependent on the resistance setting, your lower body will get an ultra-smooth version of a stair or elliptical workout. The upper body will be strengthened by the movable shoulders, which are twice as effective as those of the elliptical trainers. Even so, the ultra-low impact design will help you feel encouraged and not exhausted.
Bowflex Max Trainer M7 is a top model in its series. The following list helps explain how it differs from others. Also, compare Bowflex Max trainers to ellipticals and treadmills. Following is the Bowflex Max Trainer M7 review which will help you know more about this treadmill.

Exercise programs

A Bowflex Max Trainer M7 Review would be incomplete without mentioning the in built workout programs. The M7 has a wide range of built-in programs, and customers can access lessons from the popular mobile app. Four users, at max, can save their profiles for use with adaptive programming. They just partnered with the popular Daily Burn app and offer a free 8-day subscription to more than 600 workouts.

The built-in programs are divided into target mode and power mode:

The programs in the target mode are named Max Interval of 7 Minutes, Max Interval of 14 Minutes, Max Interval of 21 Minutes, Power Interval, Calorie Goal, and Constant Pace.

The exercise mode programs are Fat Burn, Calorie Burn, Scales, Manual, and Fitness Test. With Performance training, the machine automatically adjusts to your personal training level and sets new fitness goals.

With the Max trainer, you will probably feel great during your workout and want to extend your workout, so this model has a handy “add time” feature.

Max Trainer owners will also have free access to four workouts via the Motion Traxx fitness app. More workouts are available via in-app purchases.

What we like

All Max trainers are recommended purchases, but the Max Trainer M7 excels at extra training programs and other upgrades and has earned some excellent customer reviews. Here are the details of its best features.

Zero Impact:

Training with a Max trainer can have zero impact. The machine is designed so that your body remains in constant contact with the pedals; you won’t hit the machine like a treadmill with every step. This will help you avoid joint pain often associated with exercising on a treadmill or running outdoors.

Fast calorie-burning:

Thanks to the zero impact design and movable arms, the M7 allows you to burn calories faster than other cardio trainers and increases your calories burn rate. You can burn about 2.5 times more calories than an elliptical workout! Max Trainer is also more efficient at burning calories than treadmills and stairclimbers.

Exercises for the upper body:

The moving handles on Bowflex Max trainers are about twice as effective as ellipticals. Especially with the M7, the shoulder bars have commercial-grade ergonomic grips.

The Bowflex M7 has 20 resistance levels that will give you challenges. Other Max trainers offer 8 and 16 levels.

Preset Programs:

The M7 has a manual mode and the most preset workouts of all Bowflex Max trainers. One part of the menu contains the options 7 Minutes Max Interval, 14 Minutes Max Interval, 21 Minutes Max Interval, Interval Power, Calorie Goal, and Constant Pace. In the next section, called Performance Mode, the program goals can automatically adapt to your training progress. This list includes fat burner, calorie burner, scales, manual test, and fitness. By comparison, of all the above programs, the Max Trainer M3 only has a 14-minute workout and manual mode. Max Trainer M6 has eight programs and manual mode.

Motion Traxx Workouts:

All Bowflex Max Trainer customers will have access to four treadmill workouts using the Motion Traxx mobile app.

Application integration:

Automatically send training data to Bowflex and easily track your stats. M3 does not have this function.

Heart Rate Monitoring:

A chest strap is included for wireless heartrate monitoring. You can also keep your heartrate in check with the contact system integrated into the handlebar. For comparison with M3 and M6, only M7 has wireless monitoring.

Better grips and pedals:

From fingertips to fingertips, you’ll enjoy the Bowflex experience in comfort. The M7 has high-quality stainless steel pedals and commercial quality handlebar grips. These features are the best in the series.

Four User Profiles:

Four participants can save their user-profiles and achieve customized training goals. Other Max trainers each allow two profiles.

Max Trainer M7 has a bottle cage and a holder for mounts. Its multimedia area is more spacious than other models.

Bowflex Max trainers take up little space compared to treadmills. The footprint of the M7 model is 46 ″ L x 29.5 ″ W. The machine weighs 148 lbs. and has transport wheels.

What we don’t like

The Bowflex Max Trainer M7 receives five stars as an alternative to the treadmill and ellipticals. However, there are several potential drawbacks:

Assembly takes an hour or more. The assembly payment will add approximately $ 250 to your budget. Perhaps your best bet is to make installation easier by following one of the Bowflex manuals.

Warranty/ Price Combination:

Bowflex Max trainers have short warranties compared to other treadmills priced around the same range. The M7 has the longest warranty of all three models – three years for the entire machine.

How effective is the Max Trainer M7?

Performing better over treadmills, elliptical tracks, and steps when it comes to burning calories. In fact, it’s so effective that just a 7-minute workout can pay off! However, the most popular with this trainer is what Bowflex calls a “perfect 14-minute workout.” This exercise is among the 11 that are built into the machine.

All Max trainers receive positive reviews, but the M7 differs from the others in many updates. One of them is wireless heart rate monitoring with a chest strap. Another is the largest selection of educational programs in the series, including many that can be customized based on user profiles. Other enhancements range from stainless steel sports pedals to high-quality club-grade armbars.

Our Verdict:

Bowflex Max trainers are a great alternative to traditional cardio trainers. Thanks to their spectacular design, they are an exception to the “No pain, no gain” rule. Among customers with sizeable budgets, the Max Trainer M7 is suitable for experienced runners, people who want to avoid joint pain, parents who buy family exercise equipment, and almost anyone who is interested in burning a lot of calories in a short time span.

If the M7 is out of your price range, perhaps the M6 is a good alternative.
