Bowflex TC3000 Treadclimber

The Bowflex Treadclimber TC3000 is the mid-priced unit in the Treadclimber series – adding an upgraded console, more workout stats and higher speed limit over the TC 1000.

The main advantage of the Treadclimber is that you can burn calories twice as fast as regular treadmill walking. This means faster results in less time.

Plus the design of the units (dual treadles that move up and down to meet each step) help to reduce impact on your joints and get you into the fat-burning zone faster.

Features:

  • Price: $2099
  • Speed: 0.7 – 4.0 MPH
  • Resistance:  0-12
  • Electronic Functions: 6 – Speed, Distance, Time, Calories per Minute, Total Calories and Total Steps

And then there are the advantages of the Treadclimber machines themselves – faster calorie burn than the traditional treadmill, more compact design and lower impact workouts.

Product Pros And Cons

NordicTrack X7i Incline Trainer

1) Burn Up To 5X More Calories with up to 40% Incline

The X7 gives you up to 40% inclines.  (Most treadmills offer inclines of 10-15%).

Incline walking forces your muscles through a greater range of motion and you can burn 3X more calories (walking on a 25% incline)  and 5X more calories (walking on a 40% incline) as compared to walking on a flat incline.  This means faster results and a more toned body in less time.

2) 6% Decline

You get up to 6% decline on the this trainer – which helps you work different muscles and get a better overall workout.

You don’t usually find decline on a treadmill – except for some $5000 rehabilitation units. The decline also gives you a much more realistic feel to the Google trail workouts (see below). The treadmill declines (and inclines) to match the actual terrain that you’re running.

3) Built-In Google Trails Workouts – Run or Walk Famous Trails All Over The World

You can choose from several famous world trails to cover including the Diamond Head Trail in Hawaii, Bright Angel at the Grand Canyon, Skyline Trail at Mount Rainier, Cathedral Rock in Nevada, Rapid River in Boise Idaho, Looking Glass in North Carolina and Panorama at Yosemite National Park.

You get to experience the physical terrain of each trail while you see the landmarks on the full-color display through the 7″ Touch Screen Display. This is hands-down the coolest thing we’ve seen on a treadmill this year.

4) Reflex Deck Cushioning Reduces Impact By Nearly 42%

Reflex deck cushioning is Nordic track’s best cushioning system – very soft and easy on the joints.

It reduces impact by nearly 42% compared to running on asphalt. So if you’re a runner, prone to shin splints or just concerned about protecting your joints, this is a great cushioning system to have.

5) iPod Dock With Speakers

Plug in your iPod or Mp3 player and listen to your favorite tunes while you workout – another feature that can make your workouts more enjoyable.

6) iFit Live

If you have wireless internet in your home, you can use this to connect the X7 incline trainer to the Internet.  It’s powered by Googlemaps and Google terrain so that you can run or walk even more trails all over the world.

You can customize and download your own workout programs and workout with Jillian Michaels from ‘The Biggest Loser’ – where she coaches you through your workout.

You can also race against your Facebook friends, track your activity and nutrition online and even download workout videos.

  • Burn Up To 5X More Calories with up to 40% Incline
  • 6% Decline
  • Built-In Google Trails Workouts - Run or Walk Famous Trails All Over The World

NordicTrack Incline Trainer X3

1) Burn Up To 5X More Calories with up to 40% Incline

The X3 gives you up to 40% inclines.  (Most treadmills offer inclines of 10-12%).

Incline walking forces your muscles through a greater range of motion and you can burn 3X more calories (walking on a 25% incline)  and 5X more calories (walking on a 40% incline) as compared to walking on a flat incline.  This means faster results in less time.

If you don’t have a lot of time to workout but still want to get the most from your exercise sessions, the incline trainer is a great way to fast-track your progress.

2) Work Out With Jillian Michaels from ‘The Biggest Loser’

The Nordictrack X3 console comes with an iFit card reader. iFit cards hold 8 weeks of interactive workouts per card.  You just insert the iFit card into the console and the machine remembers where you left off and starts the next workout.

The treadmill will adjust the speed and incline of your machine to meet the various workout goals like weight loss, performance, etc.  Nordic Track has partnered with personal trainer Jillian Michaels to make her own specialized iFit workout cards.  You actually get Jillian coaching you through your workout. Very cool.

3) Random Trail Generator with 9 Built-In Workouts

In addition to the Jillian Michaels workouts you also get 9 built-in incline trainer workouts.  The Random Trail Generator takes these workouts and rearranges them. This keeps things fresh and challenging since you never know what you’re going to get.

You can also choose a workout based on how many calories you want to burn – another feature that can fast-track your progress.

4) iPod Port with Console Speakers

You can plug your iPod or MP3 player into the built-in jack and listen to your favorite music while you workout. While an iPod jack is becoming fairly common, the Intermix Acoustics 2.0 EQ Sound system is more advanced and gives you better sound quality than previous models.

Pros

  • Burn Up To 5X More Calories with up to 40% Incline
  • Work Out With Jillian Michaels from 'The Biggest Loser'
  • Random Trail Generator with 9 Built-In Workouts
  • iPod Port with Console Speakers

Cons

  • Belt is On The Shorter Side at 51" So Taller Users May Not Feel Comfortable Running

Bowflex TC3000 Treadclimber

1) Higher 4.0 MPH Speed Limit – The TC3000 offers a higher speed limit than the TC1000 – 4.0 MPH vs 3.8 MPH.

While this still is not fast enough to run, it can help you burn more calories by incline walking at higher speeds.  Many users really appreciate this – especially if you want room to grow in your workouts.

2) Upgraded Console With More Workout Feedback – The TC3000 console offers water bottle holders and room for magazines, books, etc (whereas the TC1000 console does not).

It also gives you more workout feedback stats than the TC1000 like speed, distance, time, calorie per minute, total calories and total steps. (TC1000 only gives speed, distance and time.)

3) Burn Calories Twice As Fast As A Treadmill – The main advantage of the Treadclimber machines is that you can burn twice the number of calories in the same time as a treadmill workout.

This means you can get very fast results. Some Treadclimber users lose up to 5 pounds a week – which makes a huge difference in the way your body looks and feels.

4) Low Impact – Because the dual treadles rise to meet each step, this gives a lower impact workout (than for example, treadmill walking). This means less chance of injury which makes it a great alternative for people who want to stay fit without the stress on their joints.

Also, if you have bad knees and don’t want to aggravate them with a treadmill workout, the Treadclimber gives a great workout with less impact.

5) 12 Intensity Settings – You can choose from 12 intensity settings while working out on the TC3000 which can keep you challenged.  Keep in mind that you have to get off the machine to set the resistance.

Pros

  • Higher 4.0 MPH Speed Limit
  • Upgraded Console With More Workout Feedback
  • Burn Calories Twice As Fast As A Treadmill
  • Low Impact
  • 12 Intensity Settings

Cons

  • Does Not Include Heart Rate Monitoring, Climb Indicator or One Touch Start
