Product Pros And Cons

Sole Fitness F80 Treadmill

1) 3.0 HP Ultra High Torque Motor For Longer Treadmill Life

The motor is the heart of your treadmill (and often the most expensive part to fix). So you want a strong motor that will keep running smooth and steady, even for long periods of time.

The F80 uses a 3.0 HP ultra high torque motor with a large diameter, balanced flywheel. The flywheel causes the motor to run cooler with less amp draw. This extends the life of your motor and gives a much more stable feel. You also get a lifetime motor warranty which helps protect your investment.

2) CushionFlex Cushioning Reduces Joint Impact By 40%

Good cushioning is essential in a treadmill, as cheap treadmill cushioning can damage your knees, back, hips and ankles.

The Sole Cushion Flex system in the F80 treadmill has been shown in a university study to reduce impact by 40% compared to running on asphalt. So you get great protection for your joints and a more comfortable workout.

3) Speed and Incline Controls on Arm Rests

With this feature, you can change your speed or incline with the touch of a button on the arm rests instead of reaching up to the console.

This comes in handy, especially when you pick up your pace and don’t want to reach up to the console – which can often throw off your stride.

4)  iPod / Mp3 Dock with Speakers

You can plug in your iPod or mp3 and listen to your favorite music or audiobook through the built in console speakers. There’s also a headphone jack if you prefer (which many treadmills don’t offer). This can make your workouts a lot more enjoyable.

5) Quiet Operation

Sole’s Whisper Deck is more quiet than even standard Phenolic coated decks. The deck also comes with a lifetime warranty so you never have to worry about replacing the deck. Sole will do it for you – Free.

6) Strong Deck For Stable, Shake-Free Running

Sole decks are also extremely strong which means they can take a pounding. When we compared them to several other department store brands, they just felt more substantial, especially when you start to run.

7) Horseshoe Folding Frame Adds Stability

Many times, because of the limits of the design, folding treadmills are not as stable as non-folding units. So you save space but sacrifice on stability.

Sole however uses a special double horseshoe folding frameon their folding treadmills including the F80. This frame makes their folding treadmills more stable than many non-folding treadmills. So you can get a folding treadmill without sacrificing on stability.

8) Excellent Warranty With 2 Years On Service To Protect Your Investment

The Sole F80 treadmill comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame, deck and motor.  Electronics, belt and rollers are covered for 5 years and labor is covered for 2 years.  This is one of the best warranties on the market. Of special note is the 2 years on service – which is excellent.  With other brands, you usually only get 1 year on service. This alone can save you quite a bit of money.

Pros

  • 3.0 HP Ultra High Torque Motor For Longer Treadmill Life
  • CushionFlex Cushioning Reduces Joint Impact By 40%
  • Speed and Incline Controls on Arm Rests
  • iPod / Mp3 Dock with Speakers
  • Quiet Operation
  • Strong Deck For Stable, Shake-Free Running
  • Horseshoe Folding Frame Adds Stability
  • Excellent Warranty With 2 Years On Service To Protect Your Investment

Cons

  • Not Preferred by Runners who Prefer Reinforced Decks and Stronger Motors
  • Higher Speed Limits

Livestrong LS10.0T Treadmill

1) Strong 2.75 HP Motor With Lifetime Warranty

The motor power is excellent at this price point. Plus it runs pretty quiet. You could easily watch TV while walking on this treadmill.  It’s also covered by a lifetime motor warranty – which gives you an idea of the quality of the motor.

2)  iPod / Mp3 Dock

You can plug in your iPod or mp3 and listen to your favorite music or audiobook through the built in console speakers. While this is becoming fairly standard, it’s still a useful feature that can make your workouts more enjoyable.

3) Download New Workouts From the Internet

The Livestrong 10.0 treadmill comes with a free USB device. You just plug it into the console of your treadmill every time you workout. Then you can plug it into your computer and go online to see your workouts over time. You can also download new workouts that are designed by Lance Armstrong’s personal strength and conditionong coach.

4) Well Designed Console

The console on all of the Livestrong treadmills, including the 10.0T are beautifully designed. They’re simple and well laid out – but still manage to appear sophisticated and easy to use. The bright blue backlit screen makes it easy to read your workout stats.

5) Livetrack Fitness Journal

The Livestrong 10.0T comes with a Livetrack fitness journal. You can see your average accumulated data for the last 30 workouts. You can set a weekly goal and the journal tracks it for you, showing how long you have left to go .

You can compare your current workout against your personal best or your last 5 workouts. Basically the journal helps you to set goals and meet them – a great way to stay motivated.

6) Speed & Incline Controls on the Side Handrails

The 10.0T treadmills has incline and speed controls on the side handrails in addition to the front console.

This can be useful as you can change your incline or speed without reaching up to the console, which can sometimes throw off your stride

4) 20 Built-In Workout Apps

In the spirit of the iPod apps, Nordic Track is now adding workout ‘apps’ to their treadmills. You get 5 high intensity, 5 speed, 5 incline or 5 calorie-burn apps that focus your workout on a specific goal.

5) 60″ Long Belt

This is one of the longest belts Nordic Track makes. So runners, taller users or those who just want more room to move will appreciate the extra space on this treadmill belt.
