Smooth Fitness 9.45TV Treadmill

The Smooth 9.45 TV Treadmill is a deluxe model from Smooth with something you usually only find in gym treadmills – a 15″ LCD TV.

The TV is more than twice the size of standard TV treadmills (which usually run about 7″). Plus unlike other TV treadmills, this TV is set on it’s own separate frame.

This means that even when you pick up the pace or increase your incline, the TV never shakes or wobbles – which makes for much better watching.

Verdict: Highly Recommended

The Smooth 9.45 TV Treadmill is a deluxe runner’s treadmill, similar to the ones you see in high-end gyms. We love the separate set-up of the TV and treadmill which gives you a stable TV that won’t shake while running.

You also get a highly stable feel, motion control on the handrails, extra long 60″ belt, lifetime warranty and 12 levels of adjustable cushioning to protect your joints.

If you’re looking to replace your gym membership with a true TV health club treadmill – the 9.45 TV treadmill is worth checking out.

Product Pros And Cons

Smooth Fitness 9.45TV Treadmill

1) 15″ flat screen LCD TV

This is a similar set-up as you’d find in a $4000 health club treadmill – and more than twice the size as other home TV treadmills.

This TV sits above the console on it’s own tilting frame and comes with it’s own manual and warranty.

The TV comes with connectors for Cable, Satellite, DVD player or even a video game console. It includes 2 hi-fidelity 5 Watt speakers and a plug for your headphones if you want to keep things quiet while working out.

2) Hydra Suspension Adjustable Cushioning

This is a premium cushioning system that Smooth is only putting on some of their luxury 9-series of treadmills. It helps to protect your knees, hips, ankles and back from the jarring impact that often comes with running.

With this system you can also adjust the cushioning to 12 different levels. The suspension lets you choose the softness of where the ball of your foot lands while keeping the place where your foot takes off firmer.

This is a great feature to have since different users often prefer various levels of deck firmness.

3) Speed Up Or Down With a Wave Of Your Hand

Motion control on the side rails is only found on the Smooth 9-series including the 9.45.  To speed up you wave your hand over the motion control on one handrail and to slow down you wave your hand over the other handrail.

While most people will like this feature, it’s especially handy for taller runners as you don’t have to break your stride while running in order to change your speed.

(Sometimes when you have long legs, leaning close to the console to adjust the speed can result in you running up against the treadmill hood – depending on how the frame is built).

4) Built To Withstand Heavy Use

With a 400 lb user weight capacity, this is a much higher weight capacity than you’ll find in most standard home treadmills. Along with a 290 lb machine weight and commercial grade deck it makes for a very stable feeling treadmill. With the heavier construction, the 9.45 can take a lot of use (and abuse) and still hold up well over the long run.

5) Extra Long 60″ Running Belt

The longer running area on the Smooth 9.45 TV treadmill makes it ideal for taller users or runners who really want more room to pick up their pace.

6) Lifetime Warranty – Including Parts

While many treadmills give you a lifetime frame warranty, it’s hard to find one that covers the motor and parts for a lifetime.  Even commercial $4000 treadmills don’t cover parts for a lifetime so this is amazing.

Also note the 2 years on service which is also more than you get with other luxury treadmills. This can also save you a lot of money should something go wrong with your treadmill.
