Product Pros And Cons
Smooth Fitness 9.45ST Treadmill
1) Hands-Free Motion Control on Side Handrails
Speed up or down with a wave or your hand. Motion control on the side rails is only found on the Smooth 9-series including the 9.45.
To speed up you wave your hand over the motion control on one handrail and to slow down you wave your hand over the other handrail. Very cool.
While most people will like this feature, it’s especially helpful for taller runners as you don’t have to break your stride while running in order to change your speed.
(Sometimes when you have long legs, leaning close to the console to adjust the speed can result in running up against the treadmill hood).
2) 12 Level Adjustable Cushioning
This is a premium cushioning system that Smooth is only putting in their luxury 9-series of treadmills. It helps to protect your knees, hips, ankles and back from the jarring impact that often comes with running.
With this system you can also adjust the cushioning to 12 different levels. The suspension lets you choose the softness of where the ball of your foot lands while keeping the place where your foot takes off firmer.
This is a great feature to have since different users often prefer various levels of softness on their deck.
3) Built To Withstand Heavy Use
With a 400 lb user weight capacity, this is one of the highest weight capacities you’ll find in a home treadmill. Along with a 290 lb machine weight and commercial grade deck it makes for a very stable feeling treadmill.
With the heavier construction, the 9.45 can take a lot of use (and abuse) and still hold up quite well.
4) Extra Long 60″ Running Belt Gives You More Room To Move
While most belts range from 52″ to 56″, the longer running area on the Smooth 9.45 ST treadmill makes it perfect for taller users or runners who want to pick up the pace.
5) 9 User Storage Profiles For Multiple Users
Up to 9 people can store their age, weight, height, sex and target heart rate – which is handy if you have multiple treadmill users.
You also get 6 different built in workouts including Killer Hills, Interval Speed, Weight Loss, Manual, Heart Rate Control and Competition.
6) Lifetime Warranty – Including Parts – Protects Your Investment
While many treadmills give you a lifetime frame warranty, it’s hard to find one that covers the motor and parts for a lifetime. Even commercial $4000 treadmills don’t cover parts for a lifetime so this is a great value.
Also note the 2 years on service which is also more than you get with other luxury treadmills. This can also save you a lot of money should something go wrong with your treadmill.
