Proform Treadmill

Proform home treadmills are probably the most well-known treadmills all over the world. They’ve been around for years and come out with new models each year.

Proform is a subsidiary of ICON Health and Fitness, one of the largest fitness equipment manufacturers in the world.

The advantage to this is that they have the resources to make a better treadmill for less – which is why Proform treadmills are known for offering high value for a very affordable price. They also are starting to offer some incredible fitness toys like internet connectivity and even a web browser on their latest models.

Verdict: Recommended

Proform’s strength is in making quality starter treadmills for under $1000. They have more resources and experience to build a better treadmill for less than any other brand out there.  Plus they come with some great ‘bells and whistles’ like iFit compatibility, iPod ports and even internet connections that can make your workout more enjoyable.

Keep in mind that these machines won’t give the feel or construction quality of a commercial machine. However if you’re looking for some of the best value budget treadmills on the market, Proform is worth checking out.

Brand Pros And Cons

Proform Treadmill

1) Affordable

Starting around $599 and up, one of the best things about Proform is that they are affordable.

If you want a motorized treadmill for a budget price, you really want to go with a solid, experienced company that has the resources to build a better treadmill for less like Proform/ICON.

2) New Performance Series of Treadmills

The Proform Performance series of treadmills was recently introduced for 2011 which is a series of treadmills built to a higher standard of construction.

These models have stronger motors, better cushioning than past models – and even have the latest entertainment options (a built-in web browser on the Performance 1450 treadmill!).

So if you’re looking for a bit more substance to your treadmill without spending thousands more, these are a great options.

3) Loads of Variety

Proform has one of the largest product lines out there – so you have a lot to choose. From basic, affordable models to higher end treadmills with all the bells and whistles, you can find something that fits your needs.

They even have a more affordable range of incline trainer treadmills (similar to Bowflex Treadclimbers but much more affordable).

4) Lots of ‘Bells and Whistles’

Proform machines carry a lot of fun “extras” like iFit compatibility (where you can download interactive workout programs from the Internet), iPod docks with built in speakers, workout fans and more. The Proform 1450 treadmill even carries an internet connection with built-in console web browser.

While these added extras don’t replace the core features of a good value treadmill, they do get many people excited about working out and actually using their treadmill.
