NordicTrack Commercial 1500 Treadmill

The Bowflex Treadclimber TC3000 is the mid-priced unit in the Treadclimber series – adding an upgraded console, more workout stats and higher speed limit over the TC 1000.

The main advantage of the Treadclimber is that you can burn calories twice as fast as regular treadmill walking. This means faster results in less time.

Plus the design of the units (dual treadles that move up and down to meet each step) help to reduce impact on your joints and get you into the fat-burning zone faster.

Verdict: Recommended

The Bowflex Treadclimber TC 3000 offers an upgraded console with more workout feedback (including calories burned) than the TC1000. You also get higher speed limits of up to 4.0 MPH to build in higher calorie burning intervals. The warranty is also longer which helps to protect your investment.

And then there are the advantages of the Treadclimber machines themselves – faster calorie burn than the traditional treadmill, more compact design and lower impact workouts.

Keep in mind that those going for the ‘total package’ may want to look at the TC5000 first which offers you more in terms of heart rate monitoring,  one touch start, longer warranty and more sophisticated console.

Product Pros And Cons

NordicTrack Commercial 1500 Treadmill

1) iFit Live

iFit LIVE is a very cool technology that NordicTrack is adding to some of their treadmills. It connects your treadmill to the Internet (using the wireless internet in your home).

Once connected you can run or walk different trails all over the world (it uses Googlemaps and Google Terrain to simulate the trails). You can even map out your own course if you want. The 3% decline and the newer larger console display window add an even more realistic feel to your workout. You can also customize and download your own workout programs to your treadmill. You can download new workouts from Jillian Michaels of ‘The Biggest Loser’ TV show – where she coaches you through your workout.

You can also track your activity and nutrition online to set goals and see how far you’ve come. Basically you’ll never run out of things to do on this treadmill.

2) 3% Decline

In addition to up to 15% incline, you also have the option to decline with this treadmill, which is something you don’t find on most machines.

This can give you a better crosstraining workout, more variety and also, as stated above, it lends a more realistic feel to when you’re walking a trail using the iFit LIVE.

3) 24 Built In Workout Apps

These are different from your standard built-in workouts. They are flexible and much more customizable, each focusing on a different goal. For example, there are 6 high intensity, 6 speed, 6 incline or 6 calorie-burning workouts.

4) Extra Long 60″ Treadbelt For Extra Running Space

The extra long belt gives you some extra running space and will be especially popular with runners or taller users. You can pick up the pace without feeling like you’re falling off the treadmill.

5) One Touch Incline and Speed Buttons

Instead of scrolling through your options, you just press the button of the speed or incline you want and the treadmill adjust. It’s a little thing, but it can save you a lot of frustration, especially when you’re running.

6) iPod Port With Built-In Speakers For More Enjoyable Workouts

You can plug your iPod or MP3 player into the built-in audio jack and listen to your favorite music while you workout. While this is becoming a fairly standard feature in higher end treadmills, it’s still nice to have and can make your workouts a lot more enjoyable.

7)  Lengthy Warranty with 2 Years On Service

The warranty on the Nordic Track Commercial 1500 is excellent. You get lifetime coverage on frame and motor and 5 years on parts. Of special note is the 2 years on service. This can end up saving you a lot of money should something go wrong with your treadmill.
