Here’s my workout recap from the past week or so. My knee is improving but I’ve had to lay off a lot of movements and stick to walking and body weight exercises. But I have still been getting in some great workouts!

Saturday, May 10, 2014: Walked 5k at the Miles for Moffitt event at USF. My sister in law has colon cancer. She was diagnosed in May last year and is only 36 years old. She has had more than 80% of her colon removed and is still facing the battle of her life. She is the loving wife to my older brother and amazing mom to my wonderful nieces. She is also a type 1 diabetic. Next time you think you have it rough, remember that you never know what someone else is facing in their own life. You may not see it on the outside, but everyone has their own battle they are facing – be kind always. Miles for Moffitt raises money for Moffitt Cancer center used exclusively for cancer research. They do an 8k, 5k and a 1 mile fun run. It was one of the best run events I have been to and for such an amazing cause. Here are a TON of fun pictures from the event. Please keep my sister in law in your prayers – and my brother and sweet nieces.
Sunday, May 11, 2014 was spent in Jacksonville watching some bad ass athletes compete at the South East Crossfit Regionals. It was awesome and so inspiring watching these amazing athletes – especially all of the beautifully strong women! The volunteers and crew did such an amazing job as well. I was so impressed with how well everything ran, how on schedule things stayed and the quality of the entire event.
